Based in Wells, Somerset, I am a specialist joiner available for commissions and contracts across the UK.
With 35 years’ experience in my trade I have built up a reputation for being able to turn my hand to all sorts of joinery work, including wood carving and turning.
I craft a wide variety of wooden fittings and features, from staircases and windows to bookcases and carved lettering on timber plaques, creating the components in my workshop and delivering them for installation on site.
I’m also particularly keen on making custom built furniture and taking on furniture restoration projects for a wide variety of clients – private individuals, architects, stately home managers, conservation organisations, ecclesiastical bodies and many more.
I enjoy putting my woodworking skills to use with repairing, restoring and even recreating damaged parts of old furniture, often using traditional techniques in keeping with the age of the piece.
If the item is large and fitted, I will work on it on site (also in listed buildings) but I am happy to collect and deliver smaller pieces of furniture and carry out repairs and restoration in my workshop in Wells.
Attention to detail is of paramount importance in every aspect of professional furniture restoration, from the structural repairs like fixing wobbly chair legs to restoring delicate veneers or inlays.
I aim to restore each item to its original aesthetic, ensuring authenticity and historical accuracy.
